1930s Water Tower Is Transformed Into A Unique Home

This place went from a abandoned punk magnet into an award winning luxury.

This place build in the 1930s was abandoned about 30 years ago.

And was forgotten by people. Except for teens looking for a place to hang out that is.

It was until plumbing engineer Mike Thomas bought it for about $300 000...

... and spent about $400 000 more for renovations.

The two-year project saw the 30ft concrete tower completely refurbished and it is now inhabitable for the first time since it was last used nearly 30 years ago.

A beautiful wood-clad first floor has been added to the cold concrete shell, not to mention an amazing sand stone-clad balcony that peers over serene fields and the enchanting estuary.
